Avery
I honestly can't imagine what these parents are going through.
I don't even know if I want to have children someday but after reading this blog word for word, I know now that I'd want to be tested to see if I'm a carrier for SMA.
Don't know what that is?
Check this out: http://averycan.blogspot.com/ and read about Avery and all she did with the little time she had.

Mother's Day Giftings
My mom and I on the way to my last year of college
Hard to believe almost fours years have passed since then but she's still got my back and I want to celebrate that every day but on Mother's Day especially. All she ever wants is "for all of us to be together" and while I am planning on that, I think it can nice to have a little something to open also...here are some of my favorites:
This mug is hilarious.
A definite crowd-pleaser and best if given by all the kids at once!
A friendship bracelet is always a cute idea, especially with free shipping...
I love a good scrapbook. But I've never made one myself...
If you've got the dough, I suggest going with these guys and "making" one
for your mom, yourself, your friends, really: everyone.
(and right now they're having a sale!)
Maybe a gift could be a trip to your hometown's public market together.
There are treasures sure to be found at one booth or another.
Maybe a trip to an antique store or a day filled with them is the key as well!
And lastly...pictures are always a good go-to gift for parents.
Why not try something new like a custom phone cover like these?
And really, if nothing else:

Runners are crazy
Last week I spent time in Lake Placid with a group of high school runners from all around New York.
Runners are crazy. Teenagers are crazy. Put those things together and you get a fantastic week.
Through the week I roomed with two other coaches that were my competitors in high school and one through college as well. Turns out that they are pretty awesome on and off the track.
It did snow every day though...sometimes just a little. At the top of the mountains? A lot.
Need a fantastic snack? Post-workout recovery food-invention Runner Butter ... it's from the dreamings of another coach and fellow runner Dave Ghidiu. My only warning is not to eat it all in one sitting.
p.s. if you want to see what we were up to all week at camp

It's been so long since I've wanted to start a blog and this post about blogging really pins down why I love blogs so much.
I want to be the host and not simply the visitor anymore.
Although I will definitely still come knocking so please continue to post, send me links to your own space I'll be stopping by, most likely with a chai tea :)
